Another surfing destination was ticked off the bucketlist!

San Juan is quickly evolving into an escape haven for the modern millenial, with establishments displaying creatively-themed aesthetics in bohemian, contemporary, rustic, industrial, nautical designs and more. Now I’m not surprised why this place attracts a youthful clientele.

Although I’m happy to see more developments and rise of tourism, I feel a sense of organic is lacking and fear that abuse of capitalistic interest may compromise the beloved nature and fair trade of the town. I pray not.

• Thunderbird Resort (if you have nothing better to do)
• El Union Coffee

…and all the other restaurants on the strip. There’s nothing much to do in town but to surf and eat!

Be sure to grab some dried fish on the way back to Manila!
